Established in 2016, the Pfizer Manufacturing Technology and Development Centre (MTDC) is located on Jurong Island. The MTDC is part of PGS Global Technology & Engineering Small Molecule Technology team and supports manufacturing operations across Pfizer’s global network.
Consisting of synthetic and analytical chemists and chemical engineers, the team focuses on providing innovative engineering and chemistry solutions to manufacturing sites globally. This often involves collaborating with large cross functional teams to resolve issues related to process robustness, capacity relief or waste reduction. The team strengths lie in Particle Engineering (Crystallization), Platform Technologies for Flow and Batch, and Predictive Modelling.
The MTDC also represents Pfizer in the Pharma Innovation Programme Singapore (PIPS), an industry-led platform which aims to synergistically and strategically bring together public sector research capabilities and domain expertise of the pharmaceutical industry to enhance the productivity and operational efficiency within Singapore’s pharmaceutical sector through leveraging novel manufacturing technologies and data analytics.
Scientific and Laboratory Services (SLS) Singapore supports PGS by providing reference standards to Pfizer’s global network and our partners. We procure, establish, maintain and distribute reference standards required for release, stability and QC testing for more than 1,000 small molecules and focus on materials which are not commercially available and for multi-site use.
